Photo slideshow plugin for Final Cut Pro

Overview

Print Stacker is a Final Cut Pro plugin that turns your photos and clips into prints that fly in and stack up on top of each other, for a classic photo slideshow in minutes.

Pick a preset for the direction each print flies in from, with or without a white outer frame. Stack and stagger your clips in the timeline, and every new print lands on top of the pile.

Once a preset is applied you can customize it however you like. Source.Scale and Crop.Scale.X fix portrait photos or prints that are cropped too tightly.

It works with photos and video, and with any size of media: make each non-16:9 picture its own compound clip first, as the How to use steps explain.

Features
  • Fly-in presets: prints arrive from the top, bottom, left, right, the corners or the center, or appear with no fly-in at all.
  • Frame or no frame: every direction comes with and without a white print border.
  • Real stacking: each new print lands on top of the ones before it.
  • Portrait-friendly: Source.Scale and Crop.Scale.X adjust portrait or overly cropped prints.
  • Photos and video: use still pictures, video clips or a mix of both.
  • Fully customizable: change any preset once it is on your clip.
How to use
  1. Add your photos or clips to the timeline, select them all (Command-A) and set Spatial Conform to Fill in the Inspector.
  2. Lengthen the clips to the planned length of your slideshow (it is easier to do this now).
  3. Select each clip one at a time and press Option-G to make it its own compound clip. This lets any size of picture work like a 16:9 clip.
  4. In the Effects browser sidebar, click My FCPeffects, then drag a Print Stacker preset onto each compound clip. Stack and stagger the clips in the order you want.
  5. Select a clip and use Source.Scale and Crop.Scale.X in the Inspector to fix portrait or tightly cropped prints.
Requirements
  • Designed for 16:9 projects. Other sizes work when each picture is made into its own compound clip (Option-G).
  • Works with all versions of Final Cut Pro from the last 5+ years, including Final Cut Pro 11 and the current Final Cut Pro 12
  • Works with the current versions of macOS
  • Runs on Intel Macs and natively on Apple silicon (M1 and later)
  • No Apple Motion needed
  • Works with every resolution Final Cut Pro supports, including 4K and 8K
  • Install on any Mac you own that’s signed in to the same Apple account (Apple allows up to 5 Macs)
FAQ

Can I use portrait or square photos?

Yes. Make each photo its own compound clip (Option-G) first, then adjust Source.Scale and Crop.Scale.X in the Inspector.

Does it work with video clips too?

Yes. Print Stacker works with pictures and video clips, so you can mix both in one slideshow.

Can I turn off the white frame?

Yes. Every direction comes in a Frame and a No Frame version.

How do I speed up rendering?

Trim the clips that are already covered by newer prints, so Final Cut Pro does not keep rendering them. The Center fly-in preset fills the frame briefly, which is a good moment to end older prints.

Is Print Stacker part of the MEGA BUNDLE?

Yes. It's one of the 80+ plugins in the MEGA BUNDLE, a $1,600+ value, for $80.

Is there a deal on individual plugins?

Yes. Buy one, get one free on every plugin, applied automatically.

How do I install it?

It's an instant download. Double-click the included installer (the .app file), then restart Final Cut Pro.

What if it isn't right for my project?

Every order is covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee.
