Overview

Type Designer is a Final Cut Pro title plugin that makes it easy to create attention-grabbing animated typography, with no keyframing.

Choose how the text arrives and departs, and whether it animates by character, word, line or all at once, in the order you pick. Wipe options have their own feather control.

Every preset comes in two versions: with clip, which can blur or add a color overlay to the footage beneath, and without clip, which renders faster.

Built-in tips help you learn the controls, and the animation switches from arriving to departing at the middle of the title.

How to use

In the Titles browser sidebar, click My FCPeffects, then Type Designer (show the sidebar if it is hidden).
Drag a preset into your timeline above your clips.
Type your text and style it in the Text Inspector.
In the Title Inspector, choose Text.Arrival and Text.Departure, and how they are grouped.
If you stack several titles, use a with clip preset only on the bottom one, to keep rendering fast.
