VHS looks for Final Cut Pro

Overview

The VCR Plugin is a Final Cut Pro plugin that degrades your video for nostalgic VCR and VHS tape looks.

Build the look you want, from a light retro feel to a worn-out tape: static, tracking errors, waviness, vertical roll, color bleed, scan lines and a CRT bulge.

Finish with on-screen VCR text, a custom date stamp and a tracking bar. It's a title layer, so one copy covers every clip beneath it.

Features

Tape damage: Static, Tracking.Artifacts, Waviness, Roll and Color.Unsync.
CRT feel: Scan.Lines, CRT.Bulge, Soften.Picture and a 4:3 pillar-box option.
On-screen text: VCR function text, a date stamp and your own text, each with color and opacity.
Tracking bar: adjustable position, size and color.
Covers many clips at once: it's a title layer over everything beneath it.

How to use

Install the included VCR font first (double-click it, then Install Font), then run the installer.
In the Titles browser sidebar, click My FCPeffects (show the sidebar if it's hidden).
Drag the VCR Plugin above your clips.
Select it and adjust the look in the Title tab of the Inspector.
For rewind or fast-forward moments, retime the clips beneath it (Command-R).
